Getting ready for Christmas

Matt Tank :) and I just got our Christmas tree decorated.  We have been pretty busy.  We had a bare tree for a while because I couldn't find big silver bulbs.

It was so funny to see Tank try to help us decorate.  Seriously sometimes I think he should have been a human.  The fun thing that he does lately is wedge his little body between Matt and I while we are watching tv and set himself upright so that he is sitting up like a person. Then he will watch tv with us.
But anyway, we are just getting ready for Christmas and I still have tonz of shopping to do.  It sure does come quick. I hope your all having a wonderful safe Holiday season.  I love the beautiful spirit during Christmas.

Touched my Heart

This past wednesday we had an activity for the Young Women that was beautiful but sad and the same time. We did a service project for the new Riverton Hospital making baby blankets for the babies who pass away. I tried to brace myself knowing that it would be very emotional but I had no idea it would be as meaningful as it was. Alicia opened with a beautiful lesson about eternal families which got me thinking about my family and how badly I want to be sealed to them and the tears started. Then Sadies mom explained to the young women how important this activity was and that the blankets they were making were going to be used to wrap the babies in for their photographs and would be held by the mothers after they buried their baby. She said that a mothers arms yearn to hold their baby and they clutch to the blanket as a substitution. I looked around the room and some of the girls were crying, a couple had to leave the room but what a wonderful service project this was for them. They spent the rest of the activity learning use sewing machines to make these blankets. Not only did we learn about eternal families but they were helping these mothers with a very difficult time in their lives. I will never forget that night.

Britney and Scott - It's a boy!!!!

For all those who don't know.  My brother and sister in law are expecting.  They got the ultrasound with the sex of the baby but instead of looking at it Britney's mom and sister decided to put it in an envelope and slip it to the cake decorator who would make a cake with either blue or pink on the inside depending on the sex of the baby. So nobody knew.  It was a huge surprise for all of us!!! Their faces are priceless. Look how happy they are.

Oh, by the way, IT'S A BOY!!!!!
Thanksgiving with my family is always exciting.  We are all so goofy when we get together.  I always laugh so hard.  My stomach felt like I did 500 crunches!  Here's My mom, sister and I showing how we felt after eating sooooo much!

Cery'n and her new husband.  I made them participate in the fun! Oh he's gonna love our family!!!
My mom and dad had to get in on the fun too.  It's not every day you get a picture like this.  Tis the season of goofiness!
Look at Matt.  Poor guy.  He must think I am the biggest dork.
and the best for last.  Cody was so lovin it!  He is soooooo funny. I miss hanging around him.  I love my family so much and I am so thankful for them and for all that they do for me.  They put a smile on my face when I am sad,  and a hop in my step when I enter their door because I know it's going to get interesting!!!!!

Grizzlies Hockey Game

Okay, so I absolutely LOVE hockey! I don't really like basketball or football. It's either extreme sports (Motocross or BMX), or hockey. Matt bought us tickets for last nights Grizzlies game and it was so much fun. I don't have pictures of us at the game so I had to improvise.
The final score was Utah -4, Las Vegas 0! GOOOO GRIZZLIES!

Race for the Starz - Fundraiser

I first heard about Sylvia Star through my work. Taria Atkinson emailed me to see if we would be able to help out by making shirts for the fundraiser. She also attached a flyer that broke my heart. Silvia is three and has Leukemia along with some other complications. My work decided to donate the shirts and participate in the 5K walk/run that we did this morning. I decided to donate my charcoal drawing that I was working on with the Young women for the silent auction. It was a really cool experience. Although it's hard to tell in the picture... (the guys were trying to be cool) we had a lot of fun. We got lost from the group on the walk and walked an extra loop. oops! We were laughing when we saw the guy that was behind us at the finish point before us. Oh well. Good luck Sylvia! We all have a place in our hearts for you!

Here's to a great riding season!

I have to say, this riding season was so much fun! We got Jeremy to come out a couple times, nobody got seriously hurt, just one torn up knee (Jeremy!), and I got a new bike that I had to get used to but at lease I can touch the ground now!

Matt and I love riding. We look
forward to each weekend we get to go. I'm so glad we love doing the same things! Most of our friends love to ride too.

So here's to a great riding season. Till next year Be crazy. Live life. Do what you enjoy and
try not to get hurt!

Ward Changes

This Last Sunday I found out that our ward is being changed. We got a new bishopric and new boundaries which means we gain more young women but loose some too. :( I also found out that The Young Women President is going to be released soon which means that the other women in the presidency will be released too. On top of that, I talked to Tonii (one of thecounselors) and she said that all of the Young women leaders may be getting released. I will be CRUSHED if I get released. I love those girls to death!! Just take a look. They are so funny! Last night, for our activity we did the Spooky service where the girls dress up and go to some ward members houses and clean. The other pictures are of an activity I was in charge of a couple weeks ago. I taught them how to draw with charcoal. They loves it so much that we worked on them for two activities in a row. Some of the girls are entering them info the 'Reflections Contest' at their school. I was very impressed with their drawings.
Oh, did I tell you I LOVE MY CALLING!

Saturday the 17th

Yesterday was a blast! We woke up to run to Noah (our nephew's) football game. He's 10. It was the first football game I have seen that I actually enjoyed.  He looked so little in all of his padding. We had so much fun cheering him on and they even won the game!  Next was Nicole's soccer game. She's five so you can imagine how cute a bunch of little kids were running around trying to kick the ball.  I had fun taking pictures.  Nicole actually did really good!  After, we went to Kneaders (Nicole's pick) and ate with the fam.  Matt's parents were out from Vernal for the weekend.  Dillon (my nephew from Vernal) was supposed to have a hockey game but it was cancelled.  Those ones are really fun.  I love hockey!  We ended the day going to our ward temple night at the Oquirre Mountain Temple.  Before the session we heard from our bishop and from the temple president and his wife. They were really good talks and it made me look at going to the temple a little differently.  I thought it was really special that we were able to go with the ward.  Our ward is pretty awesome!  Everyone is so nice and willing to help with anything.  I felt the spirit so strongly.  We weren't going to go.  We were planning on going out to Vernal to go riding but I felt like we needed to go to the temple with the ward.  It was weird how there were so many things that were keeping us at home this weekend.  1- Matt's parents were going to be out here.  2- Mike and Stacey were going to be out here.  3- I had a Beehives presidency meeting.  4- My family wanted us to come visit in American Fork and have dinner.  I don't know maybe I am reading into it a little more than I should but I think we needed to go to the temple last night.  I'm so glad we did.  It was a great Saturday!
