I love Abi

I never knew how much I loved Abi until today. This morning I took her in for her 2 month check up and to get her shots. Before the doctor came in, I was sitting with Abi telling her that I loved her and that I was sorry she had to get shots. As I laid her down on the table I held her hand and looked onto her eyes. She cried the hardest I have seen her cry and wouldn't breath back in. I remembered that my mom said I would do that and she would blow into my face to make me breathe again. So I did. As she cried tears came to my eyes. It was the saddest thing. After the nurse left I sat there with her and held her close. I love her so much and I know there will be many more times that she will hurt. I will be right there to hold her in my arms.

2 Months

Abi turned 2 months old yesterday. She is growing so fast! She outgrew the newborn clothes but the 0 to 3 month clothes are way to big so she basically wears the same 3 sets of clothes for right now. She's getting what Natalie calls chunkage. It's so cute, her head looks too big for her body. She's still not taking a bottle but we are not giving up. She's still sleeping good. Last night she slept until 3:15. She is smiling a couple times a day and starting to make new noises.

Here she is in her cute red dress my mom made.

I almost got the whole smile.
Here she is with grandma.

We have had her outside in the sun twice now and both times she never opened her eyes because it's so bright.

We love our Abi.

Our goals for this month are....
Taking a bottle
Sleeping in crib
keeping a night time schedule... Swing, bath, pjs, eat and to bed at 10:00.

We will see how it goes. Wish me luck!

What's Easter without an Easter egg hunt? Yes I know we are all adults but why can't adults have fun too? I love Easter egg hunting. I remember when we were little hiding the eggs for weeks after Easter for each other.

Abi of corse didn't hunt for eggs but I had to take a picture anyway. Doesn't the chunk look so excited?

We had our hunt on Cody's birthday and then went out to Lunch at IHOP to celebrate. This was the first time Cody saw Abi sinse she was born.

Happy Birthday Cody!!!

Stubborn Abi

Abi has never really taken a bottle or binky since the hospital. This week we have tried to introduce the bottle but she will not have it. She is so stubborn. We went to a lactation specialist, tried different nipples, tried a nipple guard to get her used to something else, and tried a medicine spoon. She's not having any of them. She even started spitting out her medicine and vitamins from the syringe. Does anyone have any tricks? Please help!

Some things about Abi

I am finally getting the hang of the whole Mother thing. :) Well sort of. Almost every free minute I am looking up different things about babies so I can understand Abi. She is doing really good although she is still really fussy at night. (About the time that Matt comes home) I feel bad but he is so cute and patient with her.

Here are some things about Abi.

She sleeps a 5-6.5 hour stretch at night. It's goodnight at 10:30, awake at 3:30 - 5:00. (5:00 was last night) and then awake at 6-7:30. Wow! I know. How did I get so lucky you ask? Lots and lots of praying.

She started smiling on Thursday the 14th. I mean the real smiles. I was so so happy. I couldn't wait to tell Matt. I got one fairly good picture on my phone but I don't know how to get it off to put in on here.

She LOVES to sit up.

and if your not paying attention she falls over. SO cute.

She loves bath time.
She is still really noisy at night. She grunts and groans.
She hates being bundles up and has a hard time falling asleep.
She hates her crib, the bottle and the binky.
And she really hates taking her medicine.

I'm not sure if she likes her picture being taken but I sure do. Here are some cute ones I got today.

She finally got tires and passed out. SOOOO cute!

We are doing much better. We might just go for a walk later today! Yay!
