Here's to 5 Years!!!

This last Friday was our 5th anniversary.
Matt suprised me with this beautiful bouquet of flowers at my work. I got him a basket of his favorite goodies. Sparkly, jerkey, chocolate, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory choc/PBcup carmel apple and some sun glasses. Oh yes and Red Bull!
We went to dinner at Happy Sumo. Yum yum. I'm not so hot about sushi though.
Chicken is the way to go.
Then we went to the Daniel Summit Lodge up by Strawberry Lake. I totally recommend it. It is so beautiful up there.
I'm so lucky. Look how cute he is. Okay so their bed and pillows are the most comfy things in the world. I was in heaven. I wanted to steal a pillow.

There's nothing like sharing something you both enjoy on your anniversary. Although, I don't think I have been so scared in my life. I'm not used to the whole trail riding thing.

But look at the view. Being out in the wilderness and taking a break from the everyday life was so nice.

I didn't make it to the place Matt wanted to go. There were some hot springs and waterfalls that you had to hike to. I think I will have to work my way up to that.

We stopped for lunch and enjoyed the nice weather then rode a little longer. We loaded up and went to another area around Strawberry that I have always wanted to go. We had quite the adventure. We helped a rider get his 4 wheeler out of the creek, well the weeds were keeping it from being fully submerged (it was a pretty crazy site. You wouldn't believe it.) I drove past and saw him out of the corner of my eyes. Matt flipped around and helped get the 4 wheeler out of the weeds. It was pretty stuck. Then a little later Matt slid out in some gravel and hurt his knee. He then took me on the wildest ride of my life. I don't think I have ever prayed so much. There were rocks galore, ruts, mud, and streams. I remember yelling at Matt telling him "I'm not a boy!" But he really was very encouraging. He was always stopping and waiting and telling me I could do it. That's one of his best qualities. He is so patient with me and so encouraging. I ride my best when he is cheering me on.

But I made it out and when I did it was the best feeling. I was laughing and cheering. I almost cried. I called it Utopia but I meant Euphoria. :) I felt so close to my Heavenly Father that day. I know He helped me through that trail. It sounds dramatic but you should have been there.
Here I am after the crazy trail. On top f the world. I was so happy!

On our way back we stopped at this cool area. Pictures can't quite get the true beauty of this place. I love the mountains.
I love this picture. I am so glad that I have such a wonderful husband and that I have the opportunity to be with him for all time and eternity. I love that we enjoy the same things. He is so perfect with me. Here's to 5 years!
