Getting ready for Christmas

Matt Tank :) and I just got our Christmas tree decorated.  We have been pretty busy.  We had a bare tree for a while because I couldn't find big silver bulbs.

It was so funny to see Tank try to help us decorate.  Seriously sometimes I think he should have been a human.  The fun thing that he does lately is wedge his little body between Matt and I while we are watching tv and set himself upright so that he is sitting up like a person. Then he will watch tv with us.
But anyway, we are just getting ready for Christmas and I still have tonz of shopping to do.  It sure does come quick. I hope your all having a wonderful safe Holiday season.  I love the beautiful spirit during Christmas.

Touched my Heart

This past wednesday we had an activity for the Young Women that was beautiful but sad and the same time. We did a service project for the new Riverton Hospital making baby blankets for the babies who pass away. I tried to brace myself knowing that it would be very emotional but I had no idea it would be as meaningful as it was. Alicia opened with a beautiful lesson about eternal families which got me thinking about my family and how badly I want to be sealed to them and the tears started. Then Sadies mom explained to the young women how important this activity was and that the blankets they were making were going to be used to wrap the babies in for their photographs and would be held by the mothers after they buried their baby. She said that a mothers arms yearn to hold their baby and they clutch to the blanket as a substitution. I looked around the room and some of the girls were crying, a couple had to leave the room but what a wonderful service project this was for them. They spent the rest of the activity learning use sewing machines to make these blankets. Not only did we learn about eternal families but they were helping these mothers with a very difficult time in their lives. I will never forget that night.
